Vote from abroad
Find out the latest day you can register with Elections Canada and still have your ballot counted.
How it works
- Federal elections are held on a Monday, and a campaign lasts at least 37 days. The next fixed date is 15 October 2029, but an election can be called earlier.
- Choose any Monday to see how much time you would have.
- The registration deadline is 6 pm Eastern Time on the Tuesday before election day.
- We assume Elections Canada needs three days to process your application.
- Estimate how many days your ballot needs to reach you by post, and how many days it needs to get back to Elections Canada.
Best tip: register now. Canadians abroad can register at any time, even between elections, and receive their ballot as soon as an election is called.
